Another situation is a 12 year old boy that lives in a small home in the village with his father. His name is Losha. His father is an alcoholic and does not take care of this kid. The boy is forced to go out into the woods during the day, pick mushrooms and take them out onto the highway and sell them to get money for food. We went to this home and found the boy there. When we asked him where his father was, he said that he had not seen him in 5 days and did not know where he was. His father will sometimes leave for weeks at a time and has a severe drinking problem. At 12 years old Losha has learned to take care of himself. My partner Sergei asked the boy if he wanted to come with us and to spend the night at Sergei’s place. Losha agreed and came with us.  He is a really well mannered boy and was really pleasant to be around. I was very surprised of his pleasant behavior especially after seeing the kind of life that he is living.  We hope in the future that Losha will be removed from his home and taken to a rehab center. Until them we will continue to visit him.
